Admissions By offering a comprehensive range of academic and preprofessional degrees, UTSA provides a learning environment to meet the needs and fuel the dreams of a diverse and growing student body. Created by the Texas Legislature in 1969, The University of Texas at San Antonio has indeed come far since enrolling its first class of 670 graduate students in 1973. This year, UTSA enrolled more than 28,000 students in 126 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. UTSA is meeting the region's growing demand for access and excellence in higher education through programs and services offered on its three campuses: the 1604 Campus, Downtown Campus and UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures.
