About the Fair
The EMTSEF has been operated by the UTSA College of Sciences since 2004. The fair is an annual state science competition for students in grades 6-12. The Fair provides an opportunity for discourse among like-minded, high-achieving middle and high school students across Texas. The Fair fosters an interest in and an excitement about science and engineering while offering a rewarding competitive setting in which students can showcase their research projects and set the stage for the rest of their academic careers.
Goals
Gather together the brightest and best students of all backgrounds from 12 regions across the state of Texas for scientific discourse.
Provide a setting in which outstanding students can showcase their research projects in the fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Foster academic excellence through highly-competitive scholarship contests.
